For nose cone mesh go to b&q. Yes I know, I was shocked as well ! They have it in the big stores around the tool section. I bought a big sheet for my nose cone for £12 in gold. It was just the ticket to motivate a weekends work on the car. I got the old tiger seal out, & the job is a good un ! Other colours were available, just loved the colour after seeing the Lotus f1 car.

different approach
I've constructed the "grill" from a number of shiny stainless steel strips that I bought in the local DIY shop. They are meant for covering the transition of carpet in one room to carpet in another.
Bits of an old tentpole as spacers (hacksawn in an angle) and 3 treaded (M4) rods to hold everything in place in the GRP nosecone. The pictures aren't very good I' afraid but they show the idea. Eddy |
