Which side of the foot well does this bearing locate and shall I fit the rubber version as well, does the bearing mount on a special bracket?

We use different bearings. Mine is a UCFL206, a bit big and heavy, but it does the job. It is placed on the outside of the foot well, and you will have to modify the mounting plate of CP16 assembly (the plate I call "CP16a") to fit this bearing, as it has to be wider.
If UCFL206 is the bearing you want to fit (see pictures on post #3 of this thread), I can send you the measurements of CP16/CP16a from Madis ("mopple" on this forum) who re-designed them for fitting a UCFL206.

I had to fit a centre joint because the alternator and oil filter were in the way. With three ujs I didn't want any play anywhere so I've used two of theses bearings with spacers turned up and tacked to the triangular shaft. I'm more than happy with it. No play at all.
I had to cut the original steering bush mount out and make a larger one and make up a 5mm bracket to carry the bottom bearing. I still need to chop a lump out of the engine mount.

I've noticed a tiny bit of play in the steering and traced it to the rack coupling I bought from rally design. Anyone else had this problem?
