looking good love the way you used ratchet straps to roll the steel for the silencer.
little word of warning take your alternator bracket off and beef it up and triangulate it if you don't it will eventually give up and leave you stranded at the side of the road. guess how i found out

cheers for the tip Ash I'll beef it up. I did start it off on the rollers but I couldn't get it tight enough so a little assistance was needed.

After the advice Ash gave me about the book spec alternator bracket not be up for the job i thought I'd beef it up a bit.
Also had a go at making a fuel. I started one in alloy but after reading about E10 fuel in the CKC mag and it not liking alloy I thought I'd have a go at a stainless one. So I raided the scrap bit a work. Well when I say scrap bin I mean the steel off the rack next to it. |

I tacked it together with the mig. Can you spot where I made a mistake and had patch some extra holes I cut. Added some baffles not very neatly though. |

Then I got the TIG out and welded in up.
Just hope my measuring was up to scratch and it fits the car. I've still got to add the fuel sender fuel feed and vent . Its not a light tank but it is very strong. Last edited by robj : 29th March 2013 at 09:39 PM. |
