Default rover v8!

well well well. ive had a change of heart, seen as tho i have half a rover v8 in my garage from my landrover series 3 conversion i thaught id rather have that than a pinto. reasons being lighter sounds better and will go better much better as i belive i still have my agressive cam for it will be using the lt77 box from an sd1, does anyone know how these compare to type 9 boxes dimensions wise as they look small enough from last time i saw one!

"Hic"

Looking great Michael , making some nice progress there

I like the idea of tacking the spare rails to the chassis to try to minimise any movement whilst welding it together

Have you sat in it again? right arm positioned as if out for a gentle drive with the "air" steering wheel in hand .

keep the progress pics coming .

cheers
andy

Looking great Michael, I like the "air" steering wheel & "air " gear lever /drifting pic

Looks like your chassis is going together nicely, not hanging around either,

Won,t be long before she,s rolling.

And from the pics it looks like you are having fun & enjoying your build

cheers

U7 & U8 look about spot on, to "the eye" it makes you think its wrong, but its to do with the width of the pedal box when using a Type 9 box,

its quite a common mistake when fitting U7 , the brain sort of tells you to fit it in line with BR9, similar to how U8 is positioned directly in line with BR8, the bottom diagram on page 38 gives the spacings for U7 & U8 from the centerline

Also, don,t forget that when your chassis is fully welded you,ll be removing the steel of BR10 which is between U7 & U8 , it,ll all make sense when you come to fit the gearbox

Nice work Michael

cheers
andy

Well i'm actually allowing it to cool for a bit!

Constant back and forth to corner to corner! but its worth it and im getting fit at the same time :-P

Shall be shooting off back out into the garage after this :-D

And here's an engine start panel I picked up for a 5er!! bargain
