Meant to add a smiley at the end of it I didn't make it over to the pitch until about 15:00 today, only flew into Heathrow at 11.00, by the time I got my bags, got the hire car, battled the M40 I arrived about 14:30. My first kit car show and there was some stunning machinery on display. Just a pity I couldn't have been earlier to meet some folk. Anyway it was a bonus to make it at all as I'm down here with work.

Had a great day on Sunday, went mainly for items for the Cobra this year but did get a few bits and bobs fore the roadster. Got an inlet manifold, Edelbrock carb and a big chrome filter for the rover V8 posted to home for £620 which I thought was a bargain as the cheapest I have found on the internet was £820 plus postage.

I went on Sunday - but had forgotten what colour T-s to look out for!

First kit car show I'd been to - interesting stuff there and I found it helpful to get a really close up look at how people have put their cars together - I came back with about 60 photos - hardly any of them actually showing a complete car - mostly closeups of rivets, fixings and cable routing!!!

Plenty of enthusiasm regained - and I am now far less concerned about some of the issues of fine accuracy that had been troubling me - some of the panel gaps I saw were massive when you got close up - but the cars looked fine from a few feet away!

Still can't believe the replica Porsche 917 in the main hall - fantastic idea though - although probably best focus on the Roadster for now! The Porsche 550 spyders looks excellent too...
