Being as it has the typical drum in disk type handbrake setup, it is quite likely to do that on its own Renewed the whole shooting match last year & still sruggled to get enough handbrake effort to pass the MOT. I am lead to believe that this is quite common is this type of handbrake arrangement ( Certainly been my experience over the years ) That's our Yorkie acting as co-driver, he takes care of some of the more difficult driving for me

i used to have this, but i sold it to save up for my roadster build. Was completely standard apart from a single turbo conversion. The lag was terrible, but it was like a space ship once it got going. Selling it was one of my biggest mistakes, it was absolutely immaculate with just 20k on the clock from new. It once won a show and shine competition at elvington. Iv got to make sure that my roadster is something special to do it justice...

Was going to say Nathan that you could nearly see your face in that but you can.... I think somebody maybe missing their car. I used to have a Mazda Rx-8 that was a fantastic car till i had to start paying for my own petrol, that was 6 years ago just think how much it would cost now.
I have: Roadster 2.0L Zetec - obviously (soon to be Hayabusa) Citroen C5 Estate Diesel - work car Citroen C4 1.4 petrol - Wifes car 1967 Beetle 1302 1.6L - used to be my uncles (owner from new) but could carrying on with the car, has been fully restored and is beautiful, its stuck in my home garage as i'm not really keen on Beetles so needs to be Sold. 2 builds in progress - at Saturn. Good job i've got traders policy to cover all these. Andy

yep rotarys sure drink petrol, the older rx7s used to struggle to get beyond 18mpg and they were tiny. Id quite like an rx8, they seem to be selling for silly little money at the moment but i guess the cost is in running them To be honest the gto wasnt that gutsy on fuel, i used to get about 350 miles for 50 litres, as long as i was gentle with it. I once floored it with a full tank from holyhead to thirsk and had to get fuel just before i got home!

Good choice Andy, I have the same Its 220 BHP, I get about 21 MPG, Ekk...
18" Bridgestone Tyres, so you got to love it and be prepared to but your hand in your pocket often. Not to mentioned the 10 L of oil poured into it this year for 6000 miles! Last edited by Spikehaus : 2nd May 2012 at 08:25 AM. |
