Tell me about the aero catches, I've just fitted my front 2 and made a deliberate mistake. All the large parts are to the rear of the bonnet except 1 I cut the wrong way round.
It's nice to see what other people have done when they made their brackets. |

couple of brackets marked out to bend for my aerocatches.
'Have also made some tongue style catches for the front of the bonnet so that there is no physical catches at the front, they just "clip" under the ledge of the nose cone. fitted some P strip to be ready for the rear wheel arch permanent fitting, decided to cut some darts out to make it bend easier. Also made some ally bezels for the gear lever and handbrake |

Fair do's mate the bezels around the gear stick and hand brake are well tidy lot of time and patience went into them.

Thank you guys....its great when you see it all coming together and you can stand back and say "I did that"
Another wee job polished off yesterday....fitting the seats, a bit fiddly but all holes lined up kindly for me, but tell you what....I'm a bluddy tight fit in them, but it was nice to find all the pedals felt good and the clutch although felt heavy by hand, was actually light as a feather and my little stubs built into the chassis to aid getting out were spot on. also checked rear wheel fitment with rear arch on and its ok but there aint a lot of room. |

Huge huge milestone .....its down on all fours.....after 3yrs of working with it at chest height, seeing it on the floor gave me quite a shock as it barely sits higher than my knees. It was surprisingly easy to lift with my engine crane with a long strap fixed to the roll bar and front frame diagonals even balanced first time just above the aeroscreen..... I am on a bit of a high at the mo.
I know I have said this before ....it was a doddle to work on when it was on the trestles and even though I was not able to "test" it out, the ease of construction made it worth it and I would not hesitate to recommend this method of mid phase construction |
