Ho hum....been a while since was on here even though I look every day ....well my engine went through a complete rebuild this year including honing the cyls then new rings and fresh ACL race bearings throughout, been great for a few months...then on taking Vmax out for a spin, promptly snapped my timing belt. Have got a Gates belt to refit but have not yet discovered if there is valve damage, pretty sure there will be but before I yoke the head off will fit new belt and carefully turn engine over to see, as it is an interference engine I would consider no valve damage would be nothing short of a miracle

Bad crack Kev,make an adapter out of an old plug and 1 cyl in turn shut the valves and pressurise cylinder to see if it leaks, may save you loads of graft.
Don't forget to put it in gear or engine will turn.
Good luck.
