![]() hi all
first of all happy new year i need to calibrate my etb gauge, its the traditional style with digital mileometer? The instructions state i have to drive car for a mile to do this. the car is not road legal yet and dont wish to be caught on roads just yet. the manual also states you can enter a "Pulse/distance ratio" does anyone know what this figure is? car is using sierra running gear with 1.8 cvh engine if it makes a differnece thanks steve |

![]() I thought you could put in your wheel diameter then move the car one wheel rotation and measure the distance moved and enter that figure

![]() it would purley depend on how you have your pickup set and tyre size.
if you had a pickup fitted say to a drive shaft that had 1 magnet then it would be the amount of revs a tyre will do in one mile. if you had a magnet fitted to your prop and a diff ratio of 3.6 you would multiply the above revs by 3.6 and if we use a gear box cable drive adaptor we could have even more maths to work out as we need to check drive ratios of the cable drive and so on all we are realy intersted in the amount of triggers we have in a mile it will be diffrent for everyone as it will be affected on placment of pickup tyre size diff ratios gearbox cable drive ratios etc |

![]() I bought a set of gauges a while back which were originally from a company called greengauges. If I remember rightly there are a load of downloadable instructions on their website including setting the speedo up. Sure there are tables of figures etc which should help

![]() The wheel will turn a given number of revolutions in a mile, the rolling curcumference (piece of string around the outside and measure)divided into a mile should give you pulses v distance.
