Default Harness mount bosses

Where's the best place to get some 7/16 threaded tube to weld into the roll bar to mount the harnesses?

Cheers

Dave

Best bit so far: Getting it running
Worst bit so far: Cutting steel for wishbones and engine mounts.
Most annoying bit so far: Generator packing up half way through welding.

As luck would have it, I recently spent a few days working on my lathe.

I have been utilising some of my surplus materials kicking about.

Just happen to have 4 sets of harness bosses up for grabs

They have been made from 19mm bright round bar & have been bored n threadded with the required 7/16" UNF thread, 50mm in length.

£7.50 per set inclusive of postage.

Drop me a PM if you are interested.

Failing that, try Saturn or Talonmotorsport, I am sure that either of them will be able to help out

Do They have to be 7/16 UNF? I'd like to make my own but only have metric taps.

Hi Gaz

Strickly speaking no but they should ideally be threadded with a fine thread & metric fine threadded bolts are a real PITA to get hold of, not to mention expensive.

7/16" UNF bolts have been used for years & has more or less been adopted as the industry standard for seatbelts

If you buy a pair of harnesses new, they will most likely come with 7/16" UNF fixings ( Mine certainly did )

All is not lost mate.

You should be able to pick up a decent 7/16" UNF tap on ebay for not a lot of money

Hope that helps
