bmw uprights.
hi, newbie on here! Has anyone attempted to fit bmw e36 (90's 3 series) front uprights? The bottom ball joint is lower and closer to the hub than the sierra and the top one would require an offset dummy strut so it is by no means easy. I see GKD make their own uprights for the Legend, to take the bmw hubs. Does anyone know it they're fabricated from scratch or somehow use the stub axle from the bmw upright?

Hi
Firstly, a very warm welcome to the forum If memory serves me right, Chris Gibbs & his brother built a Roadster that used BMW donor parts. He posted an example of what needed to be done to the BMW front uprights, it's the second post in this thread. http://www.haynes.co.uk/forums/showt...t=bmw+uprights Sorry there are no dimensions there but should give you the general idea

I think Mick's super wide roadster used 5 series E34 parts. In the future, I think we may all have to go towards BMW donor's as sierras get rarer - but then I am biased that way

im sure dax now use bmw uprights on the front due to fords being harder to get hold of. The rear is dax manufactured.
