Default Pivot bolts

Right, stupid question time.

Pivot bolts for everything from pedals to wishbones. Shouldn't the pivot bolts have a shank (no thread) where they interface with the bush?

If so, where do you source them so there is the right length of shank/thread?

Sorry in advance for my ignorance / stupidity.

eBay.

If you order the correct length they normally have a plain shank on them. It will normally specify this in the description. The eBay seller 'Kay's' are excellent. Free delivery and normally the next day.

If you want plated bolts for long-life, make sure they are mechanically plated not electro-plated as electro-plating can cause hydrogen embritlement on bolts grade 10.9 and above.
