Default Mirrors & Sizes

What are the current thoughts regarding mirrors, sizes, viewing areas etc? I remember ash had some trouble with his giving enough rear visibility.

I recal that part of ash's problem was that he was using motor cycle mirrors, obviously the nearside and offside on a bike are usualy the same distance from the rider. But on a car the bike mirror was too far away on the near side.

Annoyingly with most parts sites still state "SVA freindly!" ..
