Default Pinto to MT75 ?

Twin turbo might know the answer to this one
Now I know Ford fitted the injection Pinto on to the MT75 for the transit van but Ford never did this on the Sierra/Granada.

But has anyone done this? and if so what was involved?

Or does anyone have a DOHC knocking about with std clutch and flywheel who cold do some measuring for me?

Never tried it myself, But I think it's a case of using the 1.8 CVH fly and clutch.

Dratt, I was sooo hoping you'd know the answer
I've used the CVH flywheel to put a DOHC onto a Type 9 which was very successful , at least until the type 9 'erupted'.
Zetecs need some sort of spacer on the release brg when fitting to an MT75 which used to be available from Westfield (no longer - they will only supply genuine westie owners) so I'm guessing it'd be the same for the Pinto.
You don't happen to have a dohc with stock flywheel sitting around do you?

I can also confirm a 1.8cvh flywheel goes onto a DOHC. The 1.8cvh flywheel also seems to accept a pinto clutch and pressure plate. Dunno about clutch release bearing though. I used a CT133 on mine, but I'm using a clutch / flywheel combo off an MTX75 gearbox.

Hi Deezee,
How will you make the FWD clutch work with the RWD gearbox. The MtX75 gearbox uses 'lolift' clutches so yu'll have a very stiff clutchpedal
I would also have thought the release arm will run out of travel - hence the need for the westie guys to use a special release brg.
However if this combo works it might help me solve another problem.

Anyone got and old MTX75 gearbox sitting around?

Try burton power they do a lot of clutch release bearings and spacers for ford combos.

How? Very Easily Yeah the clutch has a very obvious bite on it. Almost on / off. But it saved hundreds on an after market flywheel / clutch / clutch cover. My build is on quite a tight budget, so I'm re-using loads of parts. When I have the cash in the future, I'll change things over to some better parts.

I used a capri release bearing. Real thick job. Another guy I talked too on Locost builders butchered his clutch fork to move the standard bearing forward (Picture below)

You can also remake the pivot point to move the arm forward a bit.

DOH!

Now you point it out I've seen something similar done before.
At least I know I can use an MT75 as a last resort now

Could still do with finding someone with a cable clutch MTX75 though to sort out another problem
