Smile Chassis painted

After three weeks of hard graft ( Well it was for a wonky donkey like me !! )

My chassis has transformed from a rusting hulk in the corner of the workshop into something that resembles a half decent foundation for the rest of my build.

Another picture for good measure

You could describe the colour as Marmite as you will either like it or hate it

Missed a few bits of paint here & there but put it right before it was put back into the workshop.

I made the chassis more or less to the book spec, this was for personal reasons, namely, fear of another long lay off from the build !!??

The keen eyed ones amongst you will note that I have not yet fitted some of the minor brackets or gearbox mounts.

Also if my budget will allow at a later date, I will probably use the Triton body set. This will probably require altering the back end.

All in all I think I have managed to complete what I had set out to do.

Get that rusting chassis, sorted !!

I am under no illusions that the paint won't get dammaged here & there, at least I have a solid foundation for a final top coat prior to final assembly.

I must say that I do agree with Dogwood

The Top coat will tone it down quite a bit.

I just chose some products that will provide some decent corrosion resistance.

Hoping to end up with a deeper Signal Red or the likes
