Rear wheel widths
Hi,
Just curious whats the difference between a Sierra back axle width compared to an MX5 axle width. I just want to check the geometry of an MX5 rear setup compared to the book specs... If that makes sense.. Iv'e tried to find a drawing of a Sierra rear stub axle to compare but had no luck. Johno |

The distance between the centre of the wheels is referred to as 'track' in suspension design...
The rear track of a standard an NA (mk1) MX5 is 1428mm, the sierra is 1468mm. These figure can be changed by wheel offset of non-standard wheels and even camber adjustments. When comparing suspension geometry the measurements you want to be working with are the distances between pivot points i.e centre of chassis bracket to centre of ball joint etc |
