Default Teesside Track Day - Friday 9th April

Just to remind everyone, it is the Saturn Track Day at Teesside Autodrome this Friday. Fun will start about 9am and end about 5pm with an hour for lunch between about 12 and 1. There are 5 or 6 roadsters booked in with about 20 road cars there with the Saturn Roadster there for anybody brave enough to get in the passenger seat - especially now i've got my sticky tyres on (change of underpants will be a requirement).

For directions follow link:

http://www.teessideautodrome.co.uk/contactus.php

And a list of entrants below:

Weather forecast is looking good so hopefully see people there. If not me and HAndy will still have a bloody good time......

Cheers.....AndyH

I'll definitely be there, although I wont be able to stay all day as I training again this weekend, so I think I'll stay to about lunch time and then head off.

There is a nice mix of kits on the list. I'm sure the atom will be nice and quick.

Have fun on Friday.

Well i've just gotten back from my half day at the track. What a brilliant day it was as well. Spud's roadster is just unreal, its amazing how well it sticks to the corners and the power of the 2.0l zetec engine just knocks your socks off, or the oil out of your engine if you put too much in, as learned by Spud .

We also learned that you shouldn't go for a steel fuel tank, as the rust clogs up the fuel filter, starving the engine of fuel.

Here are a few pictures from the day:

Cheers Simon,

Come the afternoon, once the teething problems where sorted, the car was getting better and better.....

Even the instructor came over after the event and commented on how well the car was cornering, apparently he was driving the Atom infront of us but couldn't get away.

A great day....AndyH

what a great day
Spuds car was handling like a dream, certainly showed a few cars that no doubt cost a great deal of money the view of the rear tub .

Then i got to play ....... did a half hour Kart race........made a great start by overtaking about 6 or 7 karts into the first corner then got an almighty shove from behind ( even tho in the briefing we were told no contact ) that sent my into a 360 spin, got back into it, enjoying a few battles, spun it a few more times ( my fault this time ) then i was undertaking another kart & the NSF tyre burst .... limped into the pits, given another kart then back into playing catch up...........great fun.......2.4 seconds off the lap record.

Thanks Spud, for a great day.... just what was needed.

cheers
andy
