Default Steering column thickness

Hi all what wall thickness are you guys using for steering shaft (MX5 build)?
I have some gas barrel which has the exact ID for the MX5 shaft.
Which has a wall thickness of 3mm would that be okay.

Regards Mick.

I would say 3 mm is more then enough I'm using 2.6 on my mx5 build!

The only thing I would say is weld and roll pin the shaft!
