Confirmation please.
Can someone either confirm or correct me please.
The steering rack extensions are wrong in the book and I seem to remember reading somewhere that they need to be 135 long, and are the threads to be 40 mm in length both male and female. many thanks in advance Arfon Last edited by TheArf : 30th July 2013 at 04:17 PM. |

Hi Arefon
I ordered rack extensions to the book spec, only to find they were too long with the standard escort rack. Unfortunatly the book failed to mention that if you didn't shorten the rack like it suggests (not a job I fancied) then you would need to build your extensions shorter. I decided to shorten mine by 30mm each. So far I have only turned the male side down to the external thread diameter, I'm still waiting on a M14 die in the post. I'll get back to you once I know whether they fit or not with a standard rack! Cheers Josh |

They are M14 X2 if I remember right and I have seen somewhere on Ebay that someone was offering them at 120 in length and 40mm of thread. They state that they had shortened them from the book speck by 35mm
