Default single seater book

i sent haynes an email the other day asking about if and when the single seater book was coming out and this is the response i recieved

Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons, Haynes has decided not to proceed with this project, and a book will not now be published.

just in case anyone was waiting for the book or have paid for pre order

Gutted. After being on pre order with amazon for 18 months I was really looking forward to it. I was going to do my roadster as a bit of a comfort / tourer, & use that as a track toy. Time for yet another re think.

Anyone know what happened to the original build that Saturn were undertaking? Did it end up going back to Haynes or something?

I saw it at the before bodywork stage when collecting some bits up there before Andy had to shut up shop and it looked like it would go like stink

Saturn MX5 Based Chassis, Limited Slip Diff & 2.4 Quick Rack.

Build cost.... seems to be spending more on tools than car bits at the moment! (they will be handy in the future though).
Car iva'd and passed 15/08/2014. Finished weight 572kg.

Ah, thought somewhere in the back of my memory I remembered someone saying it had gone to Haynes. Seems wierd seeing as the work had been done that they aren't going on with it.

I was there when the nosecone was modified after a discussion with Andy that it looked too 60's race car Lotus ish,I also took the pics that appeared on here somewhere.

Both Spud and Handy had the plans.

Shame they could not be put into the public domain by Haynes,at least they would re-coup some money.

i did reply asking if they would release the chassis and wishbone plans on here but still waiting on a response but not holding my breath

if they did i think the bodywork would need to be remade anyway as i dont think the old stuff would see the light of day

Looked like an interest project. From the pic's I saw the end product didn't look great, doens't mean it couldnt' have been sorted and improved as I'm sure the basic chassis etc was sound. Maybe haynes thought the same and didn't want to go with it.
