Hazzard Light Wiring Resistance
I have recently replace the front hazzard warning lights with motorbike style ones & the side repeaters with a smaller type than on the orginal car. Having done so the resistance is less so the flashers are blinking at closer intervals. (All non LED type)
Is there an easy fix to get around this, can you buy an in-line resistor or will I need to find an altertive flasher relay?

Thats the same fault you get when you wire in led indicators as there isnt enough load
You can buy resistors to cure this problem with led lights, im guessing that they would work in this instance too If you do use them though mount them in a suitable position as they get quite hot if used for extended periods, the ones i got were mounted on a piece of ali which helps with the heat dissipation I got mine from svc |

fit higher wattage bulbs

I had the same problem. The choices are to either get a duel load relay that does led and incandescent bulbs (£10 off ebay) this doesn't suffer the loading / timing issue of a normal relay. You could fit inline resistors but you'll have to fit one for each bulb and cut them into your loom. make sure the ones you get are rated for the heat, like Mark says. Or exactly what Ash says (what I did) and fitted higher (21W instead of 10W) bulbs into the indicators.

Indicator brake ,reverse and hazard bulbs should be 21 watt in most vehicles,Some VW/Audi use a low wattage halogen in the flashers and the brightness is compensated for by the halogen bulb.
Most flasher units state 4x 21watts for the outputs and reducing the watts/current draw will alter the flash rate, should be 60/120 max for MOT/IVA.
