Saturn sports cars mx5 fuel tank.
Right well had the idea that i may as well use the mx5 fuel sender and pump. Then just upgrade the stock pump to a walbro 255 unit to handle the rb25det's fuel demand. This would also allow me to keep it all intank and less exposed. also handy to have a built in fuel guage and a tank is allready made and ready to go for a good price. Oh and also has all the fuel returns ect.
Anyone see any problems with this idea? I guess i would need to go buy a mk1 mx5 1.8 fuel sender or would mk2 be ok also can i use a 1.6 seeing as i will change the pump anyhow? Dont know a huge amount about the mx5's so all info welcome. Oh last question Looking that the plans i think the mx5 saturn tank should fit a standard haynes grp rear end but if not can someone let me know? heh |

I suspect the 1.6 and 1.8 units are identical.
...if you do happen to find that they are I've got a 1.6 pump/sender going spare for a good price |

Ahh research done. The 1.6l has a shorter fuel pump and is slightly different. Both the Walbro 255's fit but the 1.6 will not allow anything larger. You can see the size difference between the two.
