Are these shocks ok?

Will these shock fit ok? Thought it was a good price but can't see if there's a catch? Anything wrong with having the 1.9" springs? Cheers |

Most people use 1.9 springs and 14" shocks are also used by most builders. Very good price.

Spring rates
If you do a search for spring rates you will find loads of info.
There was a group buy some time ago for car engine Roadsters 14" x 1.9 with 250 rear and 350 front. On page 5 read Baz-r update who has roads similar to ours. For bike engine my guess as a starting point would be between 200/220 R and 300/325 front.

Just in case, 14" is no good for MX5 builds at the back. I have 12" at the back on mine.
Cheers Stot

Ok I'll do a search. And it's seirra running gear so I'm ok.
The only thing I'm concerned about is the end pieces on the struts arnt very wide, certainly not 34mm so do I just space them? |

I bought the Gaz one's from Dampertech last week, i asked about the 14 "'s and he said that they would be in the middle of the travel on the Haynes with Sierra suspension and be aware that the mounting brackets need adjusting to clear damper body.

Any body had shocks with sepherical bearings? How did you space them to fit?

The ones Dampertech sell have a one inch extension on and were made to fit the haynes, the spherical bearings are probably not a good idea for road use unless yu ocould put some boots or covers over them to stop the crap getting in and you would have to make spacers for the gaps.
