Roadster Boot
Decided I needed a boot to keep a few bits in, including a tin of tyre weld! Just need to paint it now, but it's looking OK. This works with the MX5 back end, I am sure it would work for others also. Check out the pics,

They are OK, but they wouldn't fit & it doesn't look very secure!! I wanted something lockable, mine now has lock fitted the paint is drying😎

I agree,a lot of the stuff they do (don't) is supplied by other people.

I think that looks really well presented. Wouldn't mind the basic plans if you have them?

No real plans unfortunately, I just measured up the space & went from there. It is about 7" deep, 7" wide & 14" long, ish!
I started with a flat piece of ally & cut it to size, I then cut the corners out which left me with a sort of cross shape, I then folded the sides up 90deg. I put some 90 deg angles in the cornerstone hold it all in place. The box was attached to the cover by more 90 deg angles. The cut out from the cover made the lid. I hinged mine at the back so I could open it past my roll bar. Nothing to difficult, just plenty of planning first!! Hope this helps |
