I am way off from sva, but I have also pondered the order of procedures required to registration and test. It would be great if someone could elaborate on the process, I have read the DVLA aren't really sure of the order though! Everytime I think of the registration proccess I get that blank expresion and think of something else like when I know i really should do my accounts.
A guide would be great. P.S Tilly are you going for an age related plate for I have been reading how hard it is to get a carbed engine through SVA. (Borrow a CAT and air bleeding ECU), Makes me wonder how much trouble it would be to use a megasquirt and some zx10 throttle bodies on mine. Chris |

This is the order I did it in:
Go for a drive ( On private road of course) Vin number, (Made it up) Go for another drive Book SVA. ( Now IVA) Insurance on vin plate Go for test drive before SVA. Pass SVA, Second attempt. Get DVLA inspection. Get Road tax Get Plates made. Go for long drive... Sorted .... |

Dale,
The way I see it, stand to be corrected, is as you are taking the car for IVA/DVLA inspection it requires insuring. Most insurance companies won’t have a clue if you try to insure a car that has not been registered, however one of the specialist insurance companies will insure you before registration. To differentiate between your Roadster build and my Roadster build, should the unthinkable happen on the way to the IVA, they will require a unique chassis number (on the VIN(Vehicle Identification Number)plate) to ensure they are insuring the correct car. OK does that sound confusing or dose it answer the question? Cheers Ginge

Mate,
I’m no expert it’s just when I am at work I have a lot of time on my hands and can waste away days reading up on stuff. The burns are healing, my face is pealing and my arm is tightening up as the process takes hold, I should be back to full ‘work shop’ fitness in a week.
