Speedo
I am thinking of using MGB instruments and speedo. I have a ford n-type gearbox in the car but am not sure how to make the speedo work with it.

They usually advertise in the back of the kitcar / classic mags |

top tip for today, if fitting an electric speedo, do not fit the sensor to the output shaft of a blade engine as it will
a: spit the magnet off on the A38 b: read no more than 32 mph before declaring itself completely hatstand c: make you panic like buggery because you have an appointment with the nice SVA man in 60 hours time There is a word to describe my feelings, comprising of seven letters, I am currently rerouting the wiring to the back wheel in an attempt to get a more accurate reading. |

I did mention the other day, if you remember, that I'd not seen a speedo pick up in that position before.

Yes I do recall said conversation, and I recall you commenting how it looked good there too!
Anyway, I have fabricated a bracket for the rear upright and Ruthy has glued the last remaining magnet in Burton to the wheel. we borrowed some glue for a very nice chap (Ash) at archway motors and this stuff actually smoked and went from purple to black as it cured, so hopefully this will stay stuck as far as Nottingham, Failing this, has anyone any top tips for dash's that really do work as mine, doens't read the speed, the water temperature or the revs correctly |

Voltage Regulator
Hi Dave.
Just a stab in the dark. Do you have a voltage regulator fitted to the dash. Many instruments require one to function accurately. Ronnie Good luck with the SVA |

Hi Ronnie,
The Fireblade loom has a stabiliser in it, however, after talking with Martin Keenan, it appears that as the prop spins coming on for 4 times faster than the road wheel, the unit struggles to keep up. We have relocated the sensor to the rear upright and stuck the magnet to the rear wheel. On test the speedo is now accurate to 50mph (according to gps) and not wanting to draw attention to a little white car with no number plates, I will have to leave the 70 mph test to the drive to SVA on Thursday. Anyway, I feel suitably relaxed about the test now. We'll keep you all posted. |

Bonded the magnets to the rear prop to diff flange so i could change diffs when i wanted.
Sensor is mounted off the diff carrier and braced to stop vibration |
