Default Advice needed

Hi everyone I'm looking for advice regarding the rear wishbone brackets for the MX5 build.
The book shows a measurement of 220mm from the build table to the centre of the top suspension bracket NTS alterations doesn't show a measurement is there a set distance between the upper and lower wishbone if so what.
Also the MX5 build shows a measurement of 90mm to the centre of upper wishbone bracket if I move my diff back by 20mm and make this measurement 70mm does anyone see a problem with this, I mocked up the suspension and it clears everything at full travel so I can't see a problem, the reason why I would like to do this is because my chassis has the upper damper brackets fully welded as per the book and I don't want to cut them out and move them forward by 20mm as the NTS say if I can help it.
Regards Mick.

Hi Mick,
Well I just checked my AutoCAD drawing and from the bottom of the chassis floor rails to the centre of the top wishbone bracket is 255mm, not sure what book measurement is as I haven't used that in a long time (don't even know where it is..lol).
I'm guessing moving the wishbones back 20mm might be alright the only problem would perhaps be the position of the wheel arch in relation to other components i.e rear tub and radius on side panel.
Not much help I know but I guess somebody will tell me I'm wrong somewhere.

Cant you re-design the upper bones to put the shock position in line with your uppers but leave the rest of the geometry as is. It would mean more of a U shape like Johnos I would guess.

Cheers
Stot

Thank you Johno & Stot for your replies.
Stot I don't have the expertise to redesign my wishbones as I'm only just learning how to weld.
Johno I will check that measurement of 255mm, as for the other concerns you have mentioned I will look into them thanks.
Regards Mick.
