Default Chassis Number

Nearly finished my roadster now. Just a quick question about chassis numbers. It has been suggested to me that you can make up your own chassis number providing it is 17 digits and made up of letters and numbers.
Any clarification would be gratefully received.

Only the dvla can issue new chassis numbers in the uk
Go to your local office and speak to the people there I went in and came out with mine within 5 mins they make it up based on a standard system they have in place

Who's been a busy boy in the background then?

Another Welsh roadster about to hit the road. I'm planning on IVA early next year.

Anyone know anything about the ID plate that someone(I forget who it was )
was going to get done as a group buy?

Lets see some pics Jason and save this forum from choking on spam!
