CVH Install
Right I have two days of building ahead of me.
The plan is to get the chassis finished! here's hoping. I need to make a decision on engine location for the CVH. I bought the escort thermo housing (which blanking plate does it fit in??) Now the question is cut the chassis rail and sit engine as far back as it will go, or leave the chassis rail and move the engine forward the inch or so it will need to clear the rail. Zetec will be going in post IVA so I'd like to avoid the chassis chop but then again I probably wouldn't wnat to move engine and gearbox mounts and make a new prop to move the zetec back a couple of inchs later. HELP! Also re-reading a couple of old posts, to get the engine running my plan is zx6 carbs and megajolt, I've bought the edis module but no jolt yet. I did read it will run in limp home mode or something without the ECS, so long story short could i get the engine running on the EDIS without a megajolt/ford ECU just while I'm getting things going.

Personally if the engine is gonna be changed after IVA i would just put it in and not chop the chassis rail if it does not need to be cut as it would piss me off long term if i had chopped it.
Surely it wouldnt cost much to get your prop altered to suit new engine |

The Escort thermostat should fit the back of the sierra cvh head. You need to remove one of the core plugs, lower left as you look at the back of the head from memory, but offer up the thermostat and you should be able to work it out.
Yes the EDIS will fire without the Megajolt but it's fixed at 10 degree BTDC (I think. I did cut and amend the rail to fit this setup. I will change to a zetec post IVA but I wanted the gearbox, prop etc to remain where they are so it's the only way to do it J |

you will need to ajust the tube above the bellhousing back 25-28mm to fit a zetec without an expensive water rail. it would be a good idea to do this before you finish the chassis.
no idea if this is needed for a cvh but the thermostat housing is in the same place if your using a fwd stat housing |
