Cortina upright wishbones
What changes need to be made to use Mk3 cortina uprights? Sierra uprights are not easily available here in Australia & I have the Cortina parts at hand.
Thank you, Ash. |

Hi
I have used Cortina uprights, I know I left the bottom wishbone the same and modified top, will measure top and let you know. Leaving the bottom wishbone as standard maked the front track approx 20mm wider, but I left it this way so if I have to use Sierra uprights I only have to remake upper wishbones. Car seems to drive fine with Cortina uprights and locks front brakes first, have just fitted some grooved discs so will have to check brakes again. Will measure upper wishbones today and post measurements later. Jeff |

Hi
Just measure and overall length books says 236mm mine 258mm, Bush centre to threaded section centre book says 120mm I made it 124mm, I left the threaed section straight no 8 degree angle. All other dimensions the same but the angles of the seamless tube will change. Hope this helps. ps Also found that steering rack extensions need to be approx 20mm shorter. Jeff |

If you curently use Sierra hubs then you'll need to shorten the bottom wishbone by 35mm in order to use these and retain the same suspension geometry.
