Default Suitable MIG

Been thinking of building a kit car for a while but just had a revelation in the past few days that what I actually want to do is build the car not just assemble a car !

I am trying to research what I need i.e. steel, tools, donor parts etc. First major tool seems to be a suitable welder. I have a Clarke 100E MIG welder in the garage would this be man enough for the job?

Also does anyone know of any good steel stockholders in the East/North Yorkshire area?

Cheers

Ken

Default Welcome to the forum

Hi Ken

A very warm welcome to the forum

I am sure that one of our resident expert welders will be along shortly to answer your question

If memory serves me right the book reccommends a 150amp MIG set

I hope you enjoy your build

I had a Clarke 120e and that wasn't up to the job. Sure I read somewhere a 170Amp will cover the job. I am no expert though
