Default question, before i spend un-nessary money

Hi all

Question regarding fuel pumps and senders

As many of you are awere im building using a honda blackbrid engine.

Can i use the pump filter and sender from the bike on the underside of the car tank like it is on the bike? this would be very nice since it would be alot cheeper and i now the fuel sender is calibrated to the fuel tank level dial and i would just have to lengthen the arm so that it goes high enough to reach the top of the tank
( dont have the pump but can get one from the bay)

Does this include its own integral swirl pot as well?
if not its not a big problem since i havnt built the tank yet ither and can include a small swirl pot / sump

Obviously the other alternative is more expencive external fuel pump / filter etc

Chears Tilly

Most BEC owners on the Locostbuilders forum recomend the pump that comes with the engine.

If you are using the Bird guage then the Bird sender would be a very good move

One thing springs to mind, the capacity of the bike tank in relation to size will be different to a car fuel tank. I would think a problem would be calibrating it relavent to the car tank in relation to size and shape of the bike tank.

Must agree with Snapper on pump/filter, it worked before and why waste money.

Why not mock something up in carboard or ply and see if it does what you want.

Not wanting to urinate on the pryotechenics (pi$$ on the bonfire) but discusion and other peoples thoughts are what forums are for and I am interested to see what other people think too.
How far the arm travels is the important bit and I think you are right in thinking that a longer arm will do the trick and try it dry before you fill the tank.
Good Luck
