Default Carbon Body Work

Hi Guys,

I'm a long time lurker, first time poster on this forum.

My own roadster is coming along nicley, and i shall be doing my bodywork soon.

This is just to gauge interest really, but would people be interested in carbon fibre bodywork?

Cost would not be excessive, otherwise we would not offer the service, but we feel that we could offer something different to gel coated finishes.

Let me know your thoughts.

Perhaps i should have put a figure when a said "not excessive."

In real terms, about 30% more than the glassfibre prices on certain websites.

Carbon fiber would look amazing, but only if all the bodywork was carbon fiber imho. Anyone agree/disagree?

My plan is to do all the panels, just like GTS's 10 piece kit, that way you would have a complete carbon body.

Doing interior panels in carbon would also be possible. Dash, transmission tunnel etc etc.

By the way it's looking like the 10 piece bodywork kit would work out to be not that much more than GTS's 10 piece kit (GTS charge £685 + VAT, so £805) at somewhere close to £856.00, all in + delivery.

Default Carbon Fibre vs Aluminium

Would Carbon Fibre be lighter than aluminium for, say, the bonnet?

How much lighter is it than Glassfibre for the wings etc?

Is it pure carbon, made with epoxy (or even better resisn infused) or carbon fibre backed with glass?
