Fiesta zetec s (mk5) front brakes on sierra hub
Hi guys,
I've had a quick search and couldn't find anything definitive. Yesterday, I helped a friend of mine upgrade the front brakes on his mk5 fiesta zetec s track car to the mk6 fiesta st 280mm set up. This has left spare the zetec s 260mm calipers and carriers, which my mate let me have gor helping out. The question is, will these fit straight on to the sierra hubs? Are any spacers or alternative discs required? Is it likely to be a worthwhile upgrade? The 260mm discs look so much more substantial than the 240s! Cheers Eddy |

Just get sierra 260mm discs and use the zetec s calipers and carriers? Or do you mean get the whole sierra 260mm set up?

Has anyone experienced insufficient braking power with the (admittedly, insubstantial looking) ventilated 240 mm disks? 260s will be a bit more weight.

I appreciate that the 240s will more than likely be fine and lighter - It had always been my plan to use them, until I was offered the fiesta set up for free.
I just wondered if it would be beneficial going for the 260s (if they fit) over the 240s I'll be buying new discs and pads anyway, so it doesn't matter if I need a different disc to make the 260s work. The zetec s calipers are 10+ years newer than the sierra ones - I was thinking perhaps there have been design improvements in that time too |
