![]() I,m wrapping my exhaust down pipe in exhaust wrap from the manifold to halfway along the down pipe , mainly to cover the clamps ( radius etc) that join the down pipe to the silencer pipe,
So, are there any "tricks of the trade" to ensure getting a good tight wrap? is it a case of just using the steel tie wraps at each end after wrapping the webbing / bandage ? Thanks in advance for any info/advice ![]() cheers andy |

![]() Fix the end close to the head first and wrap loosely the pipe with the cloth and then tighten in with a little overlap on each join, worked a treat on the Teamtrain /Saturn car we put together.

![]() Thanks Paul,
I,ve done it the way you suggest but it seems to want to unwrap itself if touched ( checking for tightness ec ). Is it worth wetting/soaking the bandage first ? then wrapping it, securing the ends then to start the car to heat up the exhaust? does the exhaust wrap then tighten up? Sorry for such a numpty question / thread ![]() ![]() Tho it does cover the clamps nicely ![]() cheers andy |

![]() It does take a little messing about Andy but it does stay in place and tends to dry out after a while, the one I put on Jims is no probs and done the way described.
And I used jubilee clips to hold it,not pretty but practical.
