Default Rear wheel bearings - doesn't seem right

Yet again, back with more 'issues' seems like every task I start turns into a head fart or nightmare.
I installed rear bearings into hub carrier, however there is around 5mm gap between the bearing and the outside edge of carrier.
This cannot be normal? I can literally move the inner tapered roller in and out 5mm. Does the dust ring act as some kind of spacer ie. Do I need to insert the ring further or am I missing some parts?

From memory: the outer race should be seated very firmly in the bearing housing (i.e. pressed in). The inner race and roller bearings should form a taper (from memory) which locates them radially - from memory there is plenty of clearance between the inner race and the housing. When the driveshaft is done up it pulls the outer and inner race together and the taper sorts out the positioning. The dust cover is just that, minimal spacing.

What you've got there looks OK, but the dust cover needs to be pushed down to contact the bearing - the driveshaft then covers the rest of the bearing up.

Edit: If the outer race is not large enough, I seem to remember there's a couple of types of different bearings for the sierra rears; ABS and non ABS. One is smaller than the other. Personally I somehow ended up with Granada bearings on my first attempt! :/

Thanks buddy, yeah the bearings are the correct width etc and the outer races are pressed hard up in position. It's the inner tapered race that just simply falls in place and 'wiggles' a bit. I will press the dust covers a bit further in thanks for the prompt.
Hopefully once all tightened up there is no movement (except from the required rotation of course)

There is a seat on the inside of the taper races that tightens together and that will give you the pre-load on the bearings.
