downdraft Weber auto to manual choke?
Does anyone happen to have the bits to convert a 32/36 or 38/38 weber from auto choke to manual ?
If you have the remains of an old downdraft weber buried under a pile in the garage please can you see if it happens to have the bracket and bits on it for the manual choke cable please |

Make a bracket to hold cable outer and fix center wire cable to the bar that would fit into the spring/coil heater from the autochoke.

Many moons ago, used to work for garage that was Weber dealer.
I would think it would be not available as carbs are older than grass these days and anyone under 25/30 would not know how to adjust one Only thing you will need vac for is advance capsule on dizzy.

I like that idea of a DIY conversion so have just bagged a manual choke kit for a different carb on Ebay for peanuts to give me a useable cable and hopefully be able to adapt some of the brackets and bits. It has to be better than paying the £ 58 or more they are asking for the Weber one.
Ive spent some time adusting the auto choke and it's now fine for starting but it idles too high and then drops down to a standard idle too soon so a pain at roundabouts and junctions. |

That was the beauty of the auto and had steps inside to stop it doing exactly that, they were adjustable but prone to fail.
