![]() Ok guys, last night I reconditioned the 2 alloys for the rear axle. As with my previous thread about blasting steels, They are at the moment, the latest post on my blog with lots of process pictures.

They came up really nicely, I tested grit blasting on a small patch on the back of one wheel, starting with the pressure down to 15psi, and raising it slowly till it removed the paint, but didn't abrade the aluminium - which was at about 27psi. The gritting did however leave a slightly rough finish, so I ran them through another machine we use for paint prepping components, which smoothed the finish out just right. They really do look great now.
