Default Sierra and MG compatibility

Hi

I potentially can get my hands on an MG ZR for free and I'll be using the engine from it as it's not done very many miles and runs well. i know i have to get a special bell housing to fit it to the type 9 gearbox which i'm working on finding for a reasonable price.

can anyone tell me if the wheels and brakes are usable? will they fit to sierra uprights at all or should i just flog them?

cheers

Fairly sure it's FLOG..

There should be a bell housing out there, the ZR uses the K-Series does it not and they have been mated to a Type-9 Many times.

That and the lt77 maybe. They made a 2ltr disco that was mated to lt77 so it might be cheaper to source a disco bellhousing and find a rover box to go with it.

cheers to both of you. i want to stick to the book as closely as possible as it's my first time doing anything like this but matching up the k series to a type 9 does seem fairly common so i might try it and then flog the rest

type9 to k series is a popular mod for old mg's and all sorts of bmc,bl based rwd classics
if you are lucky you might find somthing floating round s/h somwhere
iirc didnt caterham offer a 1400 k series car so might be worth a look
