Default MX-5 Engine/gearbox

I've been searching the various forums/websites and the Mazda MX-5 engine seems to be an increasingly popular choice. Has anyone looked into the ease (or otherwise?) of using this in a roadster? Any specific issues that would need to be overcome?

Cheers

Mark

Default MX 5 engine/gearbox

An American ,Keith Tanner has written a complete book called:How to build a cheap sportscar(,Motorbooks workshop) based on Ron Champions Locost 7.The book is about fitting and the complete build of an MX 5 based MX5/Miata.I own the book,a good book generally but quite a bit of "rough" workmanship in it,more of a book on how to assemble from bought in parts as opposed to Rons concept off do it yourself, and learn something and do it cheap, but you would not be dissapointed in the book if you wish to use an MX5 which would be a very good choice of donor.David

Hi Danny.

ISBN-13: 978-0-7603-2287-1
ISBN-10 0-7603-2287-2 Both numbers on the back of my book, good reading and continues with improvements after built.

Cheers Mike

Ron's book is mainly building, Keith's book covers mazda build then life after the build with improvements in performance and handling.
