Diff
Picture of the beemer diff I am using
Speedo output in the back case <kin handy> Rear mount 108mm flanges Easy mountings. Bob |
That looks a big old lump
Arfon |
If that has 108mm CV joints then it's not that much bigger than a 7" sierra/granny diff. I like the simple bolt pattern on the front is the lug with the slot on the back for a securing nut or some thing else?
|
Afron its big but a good bit smaller than the salisbury jag/tvr unit. Its also a lot easier to mount. Its small enough to drop out through the bottom of the rear frame but the big plus is its bomb proof with plenty of choice on the ratio front.
Phil, the front lugs will require a mod on sb4 and cp10, that will let the nose of the diff into the gear tunnel and keep the driveshafts in line. Other than that its not a bad unit. Bob |
I gathered that would be the case with the SB4's and surrounding area, is there any good material left under all that crap?
|
I will hack into the mule and take a piccie.

Robo, do you have some dimensions please (particularly the distance between the prop flange to the centre of the output flanges)? I'll compare it to my MX5 diff.
The BMW units can come in very long ratios (i.e. longer than 3:1), which may be very handy for BECs... |
