Well the protoype was definately the first, then Slim's.

Frankie was next.

spud and Dave Dogwood will have to fight it out 'cos I can't remember!

(Actually I think Spud finished first )

I think it's only fair if this comes to anything we need to acknowledge Martin (Keenan) as co-designer.

Cheers

Chris

Well I am willing to stump up for the initial cost of the plaques, and quite like the idea of the first 10 being gold, followed by silver for the rest - that seems to be fairly easy in terms of cost etc.

HAYNES ROADSTER

Design by Chris Gibbs & Martin Keenan

Build number 001

On a plaque about 2" by 1" unless bigger is better? Already found a potential supplier.

Sounds like a brilliant idea to me. Where would the plaque be mounted?

ok, even tho this is a forum & not a "membership club" how about someone be assigned as Marque Historian who can then keep a forum accepted database of cars completed ??? would anyone have an issue with this?

there is one draw back that i can forsee.....
maybe not all builders of the Roadster become members of this forum so the database may not give true figures of cars completed but only completed cars that the forum is aware of, after all the book is sold throughout the world & not everyone would join this forum, just me being aware of possible pit falls.
but am sure something could be done within the forum ????

i know one thing is for sure, when mines completed i won,t ever sell it, got 2 sons that,ll one day have it to enjoy

Date of first registration for benchmark of who, what, when, where and why.

There could be data protection act issues keeping personal details, dont blame me but her indoors has just done a course on it and has been bending my ear about records I keep on customers and their vehicles and would hate someone to get grief for it.

The plaque is a great idea !

I am sure this can be worked around - ask her indoors to try Caldicott for challanging guidelines!

Wouldn't want to keep personal details to be honest - if we could have a thread/section called "Completed Cars" with just the builders/owners username, completion date, plaque number and a photo, then it will just be a log. If need be, it could be an admin only section so they add the post?
There would need to be some process of getting confirmation of finish/reg date for the plaques, but again, open to suggestions. I am trust-worthy and can provide references if need be! ;-)

i,ll second Slimtater to collate the info/verification for the plaque allocation, maybe a copy of the IVA pass certificate, just so its shows the date of pass & builders name, so as no other personal details are shown,

would forum members be happy with that?

Default chassis is on wheels

Chassis is on wheels.
A few more brackets and details needed before I can paint it.
Fabby things bought so I can start the bodywork this summer.
Should be ready for the annual track day with handicapped children october 2010. Isn't that a good cause ? For this purpose, a by-the-Book Seven with a standard 2 liter Pinto should be sufficient.
Will do the occasional track day, sharing with my sons and daughter, but building the thing was the main goal.
