Default Steerin Woes

Andy and Andy are your steering rack extensions a drop on job or do they need fettling? Ive just found the problem with my steering school boy errors but i need to replace my rack and extensions, i got a rack from Rally Design im just looking for extensions now

the extensions don,t require any fettling at all, just fit the rack ( did you get the MKII Escort rack?), then fit the extensions then fit the TRE,s then adust to set the steering ....

The extensions you currently have....are they the book spec dimensions? if so did they make your wheels steer left & right at the same time?

which TRE,s are you using?

cheers

the new extensions will fit straight on & will solve the steering /wheel centering

I got all my steering components from RD too, new rack(2.9)/extensions/rack clamps/TRE,s etc etc from RD at stoneleigh last year, all fitted together nicely

cheers

I might be wrong (it happened once many years ago lol) but the book extensions are too long, arent they?

Yeah they are too long

I got my book spec ones from 3ge and my car looked like it had been in an accident it had so much toe out on both wheels!

I was gonna modify them but the ally ones from saturn and rally design look so much better than the book spec ones and probably a 1/4 of the weight
