![]() What peugeot engine you using Bertie?
i was thinking away down the line the 406 V6 engine could be the way to go, they are cheap as chips with some power 215bhp standard. not sure if it would fit in a seven though |

I'm gonna start with a 1900 GTi engine (I have a couple o 2ltr engines here too). The plan is a big valve head off a 2ltr turbo'd engine, R1 bike carbs (custom manifold), Kent high lift/long duration cam, 1600 pistons to up the compression and a stainlees one pipe exhaust... The V6 is a good engine though i would choose the 2ltr turbo'd engine over it... I have messed about with the turbo'd engines and the last one was 340 Bhp, maybe too much for the haynes roadster... ![]() The guys that build the locosts in the states are all messing with yank lumps and 350hp would be pretty much standard running for them, so dont worry to much about it.

![]() If you just stamp on it possibly none but thats not how its done. I had a cobra with a mental engine and that could be made to swap ends in three gears but if you used it sensibly no issues at all. Look at the curly twat on top gear driving around in clouds of smoke in high hp super cars then compare that to the stig on a proper lap. Who is driving the fastest?

![]() I dont quite thik ye can compare a "Stig" trained driver to the average man on the street....
I do get where you are coming from on the power and how you use it.... For me I want to get it up n running with a 1900, If i want to go faster i'll take the bike out.... ![]() Bertie.

![]() It's why a lot of racing formula's use rollling starts, less chance of everyone going sideways and causing mayhem.
