Zetec ECU EEC-V
School boy error
Hi folks I think I have made a schoolboy error. I am trying to get a Zetec to run on its original ECU with PATS using a ECC-V ecu. Form info on it looks like it can be done which is the good news. However when I obtained me 2.0ltr black top engine (Engine code NGD...) I go the keys and transponder ring but not the Dash module. After spending the day with the wiring loom and wiring diagram it looks like I am missing the vital part, the instrument cluster. Am I right in thinking that the instrument cluster contains the Instrument Control Module (ICM) and the ECU nees a feed from this to run? Also is the ICM coded to the ECU/PATS so I need the instrument cluster from the same car as the ECU? What does the ICM look like? Is it embedded in the instrument cluster? I was also told that you need the Generic control module (GCM) What is this as I can not see it on the wiring diagram. Any help more than welcome. |

Pats is not hard its four wires.
Whats the code name on the ecu ? for a blacktop upto atleast 1999 you dont need the dash. Ive done several from 92 pre pats eec-iv upto 99/2000 eec-v's this is running on a 97 eec-v and has some obd2 functions. http://youtu.be/BKqeCjdBM0w A little pats demo for you http://youtu.be/pUbV0NPvx4M This is a 99 ecu that I wired for a guy. It is only a test and doesnt idle as it should as most of the sensors where sat on the car and not in the engine ....
