hi, im pretty sure that the thickness of the bars is ontop of the plate, so the plate will still measure 2mm, plus the pattern. would 5 bar plate be sufficient for the floor however ans with the bar pattern it will be verry difficult to get a seal around the edges of the pannel and also not giving full contace could reduce the strength too, :)

Not ideal stuff to use but if you must then lay your chassis on it, mark out where the tubes run then whizz any bumps off with a whizzy so the plate sits flat on the chassis...the floor adds stiffness to the chassis so no good unless it makes full contact really. Would have thought normal ali sheet would be easier and a lot cheaper unless you have got it for nowt that is.

The 5 raised bars of the tread plate are easily ground or sanded away flat around the edges with a fibre sanding disk in a grinder, word of warning here wear a mask as inhaled ally dust has been proved to cause....erm what was it.......oh bugger ........oh yeah alzheimers.

Yeah, but I think the 5 Bar looks nicer;) And a shed load of scratches/dings won't show up half as much as they would on a plain ally floor.
