Brrrrrrrrrrr....

....it's getting a bit chilly in the Haynes now!

rpjg1975 30th October 2013 11:45 AM

I'll bet....it'll be a bit bracing to say the least!

It was certainly fresh!

My fingers were a bit of an odd colour by the time I got to work this morning.
Might have to look into fitting some heating elements in my steering wheel!

Have you been caught out in the rain yet. I can only assume its a bit miserable then. Worse if its cold rain.

How often are you using the roadster? Is it you daily car when it's warm enough?

Hi David,
I had been commuting in it 3 or 4 days a week up until the end of September.
The last month's been a bit of a washout though, so it's only been out a couple of times :(

I check the weather forecast before I take her out, and haven't really been caught out yet.
I've encountered some very thick fog and a couple of light drizzly showers, but they weren't too bad. It was just a bit of a pain having to constantly wipe my visor
I really don't want to find out what it's like to drive her in a proper rain shower, I imagine it'd be pretty bl00dy horrible!

You will find that the gap at the bottom of the scuttle and the side panels is very accurate at pointing water at your nether regions, someone on flea bay had a strip moulded for sale to fit on the side to stop it,worth investigating.;)

alga 30th October 2013 10:26 PM

I have a window sealing strip on the scuttle flange, so no water is seeping in there. I get all wet regardless, the water from my chest and the outside arm drips into the seat :-/

In the past week we had nice autumn weather, up to 13 degrees and some sun, I took the roadster for a drive. Some warm clothes, beanie, scarf, gloves, and it's great!

flyerncle 31st October 2013 10:54 AM

Did not seep through seam Albert,it just ran over the gap of the side panel and straight at the undercarriage for some strange reason, aerodynamics of a brick me think's.

Another strange one,sat in Spuds car on track in passenger seat and arm on side (exhaust on left side) as to big to sit in skinny seats and twenty minutes after getting out my arm was stinging from exhaust heat and burnt even though we were not going slow, one to watch out for.

I dont usually wipe the visor on the bike - the wind usually blows it away. If it is a problem you can get stuff to put on that sheds the rain better(rainex?)
You can always wear waterproof overpants . BUT biker gear is by far the best solution.:)

Any excuse to get in to leather .......:p

TheArf 31st October 2013 04:38 PM

I have heard rumors about him and the leather gear

Arfon

ayjay 31st October 2013 06:21 PM

Who said anything about leather?

alga 31st October 2013 06:36 PM

I'm thinking of giving a kart rain suit a try.

P.S. But really, what we need is windscreens and flap doors.

Leather,Pvc does it matter ?

What ever lights the candle......;)

Seriously Gents, what was the point of building a two seat sports car if you put on windows on etc for comfort and to keep the rain off, might aswell use the tintop.

skov 11th November 2013 01:26 PM

I'm going to have to stop driving the Haynes in the cold if the end result is men in latex
