B&Q Steel Tube

Hi All.

Before I start welding HandyAndy's chassis together I want to practise.
Has anyone used B&Q steel?

It would be fine to use for that purpose but its an expensive way to practice

Im sure if you try hard enough you will find some scrap metal from somewhere to play with

crumbs you can get a 6m length for that price.

Hi Pete,

as others have said , that will be fine to practice on but not cheap,
nearly £9 per mtr, wow i need to put my prices up:D ,

how about finding a local scrap dealer, i,m sure they,ll let you have some scraps of steel for some biscuit jar funds ;)
or some old railings etc from the garden :D

tho you are correct to practice , tho don,t forget if you do make a mistake you know where i am for a replacement bit, ;)

If anyone with one of my chassis kits needs a replacement part due to a mistake being made, i,m happy to supply a replacement part for the cost of postage.

cheers

I've got some off cuts you can have, and I'm sure I could let you have a 2m length as well. Most of the off-cuts are pretty short, as I was quite economical with my cutting, but for practising joints they will be fine:D

Let me know, I'm only in Sutton, so could drop them off whenever.

Pete,

If you are driving down the A303 near Andover next week I have a load of off-cuts you can practice with to your harts content.

Cheers Ginge
