Steel CVH Sump to good home

Recently taken off a modified steel sump from a 1.8cvh which was upgraded to a new ali one. Sump is free to a good home, P&P £15, if anybody genuinely needs one.

The sump includes pick up pipe but will need a new gasket, will not be upto track or hard driving but will be fine for general use or just to get a cvh car through IVA prior to upgrading.

Let me Know....Andrew

WoW

Thats a great help to a forum member needing one of these, especially as its already been shortened & ready for installing into the Roadster chassis, they are becoming hard to find .......& expensive when you do

Nice gesture Spud, thats what this forum is all about, helping fellow builders

Ps....isn,t it about time you treated yourself to some new shocks ? :p :p (only kidding )

cheers

i dont agree i know someone that builds spaceframe cars and has had a load trouble with protech's failing pulling the rod out the end making a right mess!
he had bought loads of sets and didnt get any backup

alot of people b1tch about gaz ones but i find this odd as thay seem to be fitted to tons of kits as std fitment so thay cant be that bad

i would like spax or avo coilovers but you cant get them for good money so im going for gaz

Hi There,

Someone said to me that the 1.8 CVH sump would fit to the 2 litre zetec .... is this true?

If so I would be very interested in the sump and can send money via bank transfer :)

Cheers,

Jonathan

I've found them great so far Baz, and Kevin at Protech has always been okay. We can only go by our own experiences....;) , sump was foc of a car anyway so it may aswell go to a good home.

btw, yes the 1.8cvh does fit the 2l zetec. The zetec bolt pattern doesn't have the 6mm holes at each end and you need to extend the holes in the cvh sump slightly of the sump as the cvh but if you are careful and use some sealer it is okay.

Thing is with these shocks is they nearly all share the same internals......why you ask? Because it goes back to Spax and folk working, learning then leaving and setting up on their own....I know of at least 3 firms:p

If you want decent shocks that work and last then Spax or Koni.....yep the expensive ones:rolleyes:
