Zetec 2ltr

So as i understand it ye need to use the doner engine for the build to keep it on a dated plate...

Now, the question....

I have the chance of a 2ltr Zetec and want to fit it after I have got it IVA'd.

What do i need to fit this to a RWD gearbox??

Possibly nothing..not sure about the clutch but the bolt pattern for MT75 and type 9 box bellhousings are the same ...type 9 smaller MT75 in my todays experience is a big heavy mother f@cker !!!

Bertie.

Type 9 gearbox, 1.8 zetec flywheel, mk1 mondeo clutch kit and a ford capri release bearing part no. ct133

This set up is working fine for me

So am i better off looking for a type 9??

I thought with natural progression the MT75 would be a tougher box??

My feet only just fit in the footwell with a type 9 so mt75 was out of the question for me as they take away footwell space

Apparently type 9 are good for up to 200bhp in such a light car anyway

Depends on your donor aswell i suppose, but you are quite right mt75 is meant to be a stronger box but type 9 is good enough unless you are going big power

Type 9 a bit harder to get hold of now..and if you want age related i would imagine it would count as part of a major component from your donor...ie engine...box...prop...diff...brakes...loom...etc etc i understand it all counts...also you need to make your decision before ordering a kit as the tranny tunnel is different from the book for the MT75 box...the tunnel is wider..which ends up with little room about your feet in the pedal box area...its tight...but can be done with lots of sweary words and help from the peeps on here !!

Looks like its the type 9 then.....

Thanks for yer help lads...
